Despite the on-going miserable weather, we've finally forced ourselves out of hibernation to bring you our first update of 2011, albeit a just a small one!
Shannon Kennedy blogs about the presence and representation of archaeology and heritage in the media and asks when did archaeology hit the big time?, and Clare Burke revives our State of the Arch section with an article titled Planning Policy Statement 5: What does it mean and will anything change? which asks three individuals who occupy different positions within the archaeological discipline to provide their opinions of the new PPS5 legistation and what difference, if any, it will make.
In the meantime, we're still squirrelling away over the submissions for Issue 12 (which, judging by the quality of the abstracts, looks to be very promising indeed), finishing up the final touches to Issue 11, and readying ourselves for the YAPG conference that will be held here in Sheffield on the 25th of March.
